Types of Readings
Dominant Reading
The most popular reading for most people, it is the normal way to interpret a text.
Alternate reading
any interpretation that is different from the dominant reading, it is usually focused on nuances, or little gaps or saliences to create meaning that is grounded but not emphasised.
Resistant reading
Contradicts the dominant interpretation, and challanges the assumptions underlying the text.
Resistant Reading Examplee.g. in the Relic Film Poster from the Mock Exam,A resistant reading could view it as insensitive those with family members with dementia
